Low-Carb Flatbreads
low carb psyllium husk flatbreads
Materials
- 1/2 cup coconut flour
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp psyllium husk powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 tsp salt (to taste)
Instructions
- Mix all dry ingredients in a small bowl.
- Add oil and mix by hand until mixture turns pasty.
- Add boiling water and mix well, by hand, until dough forms.
- Divide into 4 balls. Flatten either with a rolling pin, or by hand to desired thickness. If you want a perfect circle, use a cup for small flatbreads, or a lid from a saucepan for larger flatbreads.
- Fry in a non-stick frying pan with no oil on medium heat for approximately 3 minutes on each side until they start to brown.
Notes
If you want to use these breads with a sweet topping such a Nutella and bananas, strawberries and whipped cream, etc… you can use coconut oil which will give a slightly different and more sweet flavor that’s suitable for desserts.
They are incredibly versatile and can be used for wraps, dipping, with eggs, as a regular bread, etc. Enjoy!
